Singapore-based antiviral protection company Nanoveu (ASX:NVU) has seen an approximate 15% lift in its share price to hit an intraday high of 6.7c per share off the back of viral testing results and the launch of tape and thermoformed plastic products.

Testing has seen the nanotechnology company assess the efficacy of its antiviral plastic coating following a simulated 12-month exposure period to outside conditions.

The Company reports that its environmentally exposed product maintained high performance, describing the results as “almost identical” to its non-exposed product.

As part of the research the antiviral plastic coating was placed in a high-powered weather machine, exposing the product to temperatures ranging from 63 +/- 3°C, humidity from 50 +/- 5%, irradiation levels of 180W/m2 and water spray.

Following the simulated weather conditions, the product was assessed against a single-strand RNA virus where it was able to reduce the viral load by 99.98% in only five minutes.

Nanoveu also announced this morning that it had launched an antiviral tape product for smaller surfaces, as well as thermoformed plastic, which has the potential to better protect custom buttons, such as those found on ATMs, elevators and EFTPOS machines.

The tape product represents a new B2C revenue stream, as well as offers the potential to expediate its supply chains, with a number of distributors needing to cut commercial rolls to size for customers. The introduction of tape rolls introduces a pre-cut solution, accelerating product turnaround.

The Nanoshield tape is available in three roll length options: 10m, 20m and 50m and will be 10cm in width – similar to dimensions of standard packing tape.

Commenting on the company activities, Nanoveu Executive Chairman and CEO Alfred Chong said: “Nanoveu continues to go from strength-to-strength, with the latest products and product assessments fine-tuning our suite of offerings to match customer need.

“We have seen a real interest in a smaller tape product from our distributors and it is clear that the thermoformed product is of real relevance for a number of key industries.

“Our customers have also inquired about our performance outdoors and it is fantastic to now have the evidence which suggests we are providing an appropriate and effective solution.”
