Following a listing on the ASX last month ClearVue (ASX:CPV) has hit the ground running, announcing it is commencing certification testing of its energy-producing glass technology to meet Australian Standards (AS).

The AS testing is an important milestone, as it is a requirement before the glass can be sold commercially within the country.

ClearVue powers technology towards Australian Standards

In order to comply with the various AS certifications, specific tests on ClearVue glass products will be undertaken, verifying product performance, including deflection, operating force, air infiltration, water penetration resistance and strength.

The test work is being carried out at industry test laboratories, operated by Intertek, with results anticipated within weeks.

ClearVue has developed a patented technology integrating glass panelling, such as those you would find in a home or office building, with solar PV cells which are placed around the edges. Nano-particles which are ingrained within the glass deflect UV rays to the PV cells along the glass edge and generate electricity.

The company has been able to maintain glass transparency while introducing the nano-particles, which places the recent ASX inductee into a market-leading position, potentially turning buildings and homes into significant solar power sources.

The commencement of the certification process confirms to the market that we have moved quickly since our successful IPO to take the necessary final steps towards commercial release of our world-class energy efficient, energy generating clear glass windows,” ClearVue Executive Chairman Victor Rosenberg said.

“Certification of our patented technology will be a significant milestone in the history of our company and will see ClearVue move ever closer to commercialising our product for the Australian market,” he said.

ClearVue will be showcasing its technology at an upcoming conference, Fenestration Australia 2018, in Port Douglas, Queensland, from the 19th to 20th of September.
