Mobile games and e-book technology developer Animoca Brands Corporation (ASX:AB1) has announced its popular Crazy Defense Heroes game for Apple iOS will launch in American and European markets.
Crazy Defense Heroes was first launched on the Apple App Store on 8 January 2018 in a limited Asia-Pacific release and has since performed strongly, becoming one of Animoca Brands’ top revenue generating products.
The game has far exceeded Animoca’s expectations, with the franchise notching A$1.26 million in revenue in the first month since Crazy Defense Heroes was launched.
Today’s announcement expands the availability the game to over 80 new markets, including the USA, UK, Germany, Russia and France.
Crazy Defense Heroes is anticipated to continue its strong performance, with Animoca developing an Android operating system version, to expand the potential audience of the app by approximately seven times.
Animoca anticipates that the Andriod edition will be completed in the third quarter of 2018.
Crazy Defense Heroes is free to play with optional in-app purchases and combines a variety of different game mechanics, including deck building from collectible card games, strategy from tower defence games and character/equipment systems similar to an RPG.
Crazy Defense Heroes has a fantasy storyline with over 500 levels of innovative gameplay.
Animoca Brands reports that it is also investigating the possibility of re-skinning the game, effectively maintaining the game mechanics and intellectual property, but with different graphic look to further build upon the success of the title.
Shares in Animoca Brands hovered around 6 cents per share today, defying otherwise lackluster market conditions.
