Dubber Corporation Limited [ASX: DUB] defines itself as a cloud based call recording service provider, but you could argue that is being is being overly simplistic. Dubber’s platform doesn’t just record calls through a telco service. The platform’s artificial intelligence, smart search and voice emotion sensing capabilities allow telco customers to find and interact with a very rich load of data that is held within their calls. The platform is attractive to telcos because it provides them with a competitive edge as the vie for customers.

It says that its platform can be used by businesses to learn more about their customers and improve both their products and service strategies. Individuals can use Dubber’s platform to place relevant information from recorded files at their fingertips. The platform is designed to interface relatively easily with other software applications, for example a business Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Dubber and IBM recently signed an embedded solution agreement to combine IBM’s (Watson) suite of enterprise-ready Artificial Intelligence (AI) services, applications and tooling with Dubber’s cloud based call recording solution. Zoe is the name Dubber gives to its call recording intelligence modules and services. IBM and Dubber describe their combined solution as Cognitive Call Listening and Recording (CCL&R)

Cisco Systems’ BroadSoft integrated Dubber’s platform into its Broadcloud PBX suite. BroadSoft has a reported customer base of around 600 telcos including 25 of the world’s biggest ones. BroadSoft is actively promoting Dubber capabilities with a view to transforming the call recording industry.

Once Dubber’s call recording and AI suite is integrated into a Telco platform it cannot be easily removed.

Dubber earns a small fee for every telco user that activates its service. Many current users are businesses that are required to record calls by regulation. They have found Dubber’s cloud based solution to be cheaper and simpler to operate than legacy call recording alternatives.

It is currently contracted to provide its recording platform to 57 carrier networks globally. Exponential growth is suggested by the reported addition of end 23,583 users to a total user base of 44,420 in the six months to the end of the September 2018.

Dubber’s unaudited monthly revenue for September 2018 was A$301k with a trajectory that seems to be pointing sharply upwards. Company market capitalisation currently sits around A$59m.
