Australian-listed company Elsight (ASX:ELS) has been chosen by a leading provider of air medical services in North America to expand its unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV, or drone) healthcare services across the US.
Elsight, the recognised industry leader in drone connectivity solutions to assure airworthiness, developed the Halo connectivity solution and this contract is the latest strong commercial validation of Halo.
Highlights:
- Elsight’s Halo technology has been selected as the C2 (Command and Control) reliable link provider for all Air Methods’ subsidiary Spright’s different manned and unmanned vehicle platforms providing healthcare services in North America.
- As part of the agreement, Spright will become an official Halo reseller in the US.
- The first commercial order of Halo units has been received as part of the multi-year agreement to equip Spright’s manned and unmanned aerial and ground fleets.
- Air Methods is a privately owned, leading provider of air medical services in North America and provides emergency medical services to more than 100,000 patients every year across 48 states.
- Spright is the wholly owned drone division of Air Methods and was created to help solve many of the toughest time sensitive challenges facing health services for communities across North America.
- Halo will be used on drones delivering medicines, other supplies and specimens for lab testing, as well as infrastructure and utility inspections across the US.
- The first commercial order of Halo units has been received under the multi-year agreement with Spright and Elsight expects several further orders of similar or larger scale during the term of the agreement.
The Sprite partnership closely follows Elsight’s collaboration with DroneUp, which provides drone delivery services to Walmart. The US retail giant announced in May it was expanding its DroneUp delivery network to 34 sites by the end of this year.
