Energy Action, Australia’s leading energy market management firm, has announced it is now a 100 per cent carbon neutral company, meeting the requirements of the Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard for its business operations in Australia.

In line with Climate Active’s encouragement of the industry to go beyond standard practice Energy Action provides energy buying and emission reduction solutions to more than 7,000 businesses.

“Our Net Zero plan now means we can ‘walk the talk’ and lead by example,” commented Bruce Macfarlane, interim CEO, Energy Action. “Becoming carbon-neutral certified enhances our Net Zero consulting advice.”

“We now have real world, first-hand experience. We know the parts of the certification journey that can be time consuming, complex and costly because we’ve gone through it. We’ve learnt from our mistakes and from the decisions that made things easier. And it’s this experience that is now helping our clients navigate their own Net Zero journeys.”

The Climate Active Network (CAN) is made up of organisations leading voluntary action on climate change, and is enabling individuals, businesses and government to work together to protect Australia’s current and future climate.

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing the nation today. Its impact on our planet, the economy, our health and our way of life is extreme, and businesses of all sizes need to start preparing for the market they’ll be operating in,” said MacFarlane.

Climate Active certification is a new iteration of the Australian Government’s carbon neutral certification that better reflects the role that government, business and community have to play in working together to address climate change.

Continued Macfarlane: “It’s up to the industry to take action to ensure Australia meets its carbon reduction commitments for a greener future. We’re thrilled to be playing a core role in this journey and to be ‘walking the Net Zero talk’ as a 100 per cent carbon neutral company, having reduced our emissions by 95.65per cent.”

“Our mission is to continue to help organisations work towards a Net Zero they can afford – as part of our drive to make energy easier, cleaner and cost less.”
