Fluence Corporation (ASX:FLC) has won an US $8.5M contract from the Cambodian Government’s Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, to build a third SUBRE plant using MABR technology in Sihanoukville.

The SUBRE plant will consist of 90 three-tier MABR stacks, each consisting of three MABR spirals in a tower configuration, treating wastewater for a population of 160,000.

Chairman and CEO, Richard Irving, said Fluence will again team with engineering partner X-WATER, following successful collaborations on the first two SUBRE plants now operating successfully in Sihanoukville. These initial plants are the first biological treatment plants of any kind in Cambodia.

Fluence’s MABR is ideally suited to meet the Cambodian government’s push for higher treatment standards. This contract is testament to MABR’s scalable performance, favorable cost and just in time deployment,” Mr Irving said.

“Moreover, it provides further operating proof that supports the North American business model of large scale wastewater treatment and reuse as a service, since our MABR solution delivers top quality treatment at minimum cost and energy in large as well as small plants.

“We are very pleased to secure this contract for our third major MABR plant in the country and to again work with XWATER. Our partnership has already garnered national attention with excellent results from our first two plants.
“We are delighted XWATER has agreed to be our exclusive partner in Cambodia. We anticipate future projects in the region to utilise Aspiral systems as well as SUBRE configurations of MABR.”
