Rural, regional and remote telecommunications carrier Field Solutions Holdings (ASX: FSG) has successfully obtained 5G spectrum for rural, regional and remote Australia.
CEO, Andrew Roberts, said FSG’s 5G service willcover 85% of Australia’s landmass.
FSG, has secured 5G spectrum holdings to ensure that rural, regional and remote Australia is not left behind in the rollout of 5G services,” Mr Roberts said.
“We needed to secure this spectrum to ensure we can deploy superfast services within our target markets.
The granted licenses encompasses FSG’s current networks locations and areas where FSG may deploy network in the future. Increasing demand for bandwidth in regional areas is being driven by the agriculture sector and work-pattern changes driven by COVID-19.
“5G deepens our long-term commitment to the bush and ensures FSG remains the leading provider of services for rural, regional and remote Australia,” Mr Roberts said.
FSG operate or are constructing networks in New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria, Northern Territory and have recently announced new network build commencing in Western Australia. By the end of 2021, FSG’s network will cover over 90,000 sq. km.
The company will commence the rollout of 5G services in the next six months. 5G deployment areas are determined based on local demand, government funding and FSG’s business strategy.
