Advances in new technology are leading the fight against African Swine Fever and ASX-listed Zoono Group Limited (ASX:ZNO) is at the forefront of these developments.
Only this week the United Nations reported food prices are climbing to a two year high as African Swine Fever reeks havoc.
The UN Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) said: “African swine fever is obviously a huge reality in the world. It has pushed up the meat index over the course of the year. And it has led to China importing a lot of other meat, also pushing up prices,”
However, the developments have been followed up with news from Zoono Group today that its ZOONO Z71 Microbe Shield was found to be extremely effective in counteracting the African Swine Fever Virus (ASF virus).
Zoono Group specialises in the development, manufacture and global distribution of a suite of unique, proven, long lasting and environmentally friendly antimicrobial solutions that have a distinct competitive advantage.
The Company says the latest results from research laboratory trials conducted at Wageningen Bio-Veterinary Research Department of Virology. a leading global research institute based in Lelystad, Netherlands and specialising in the prevention, eradication and control of animal diseases.
ZOONO Z71 Microbe Shield inactivated the ASF virus at better than 4 Log (a 4 Log reduction or better equates to a greater than 99.99% reduction). The AFS virus, which is a particularly difficult virus to inactivate, is decimating pig populations globally, not only within China and Korea but also in other parts of Asia and Europe.
In a statement Zoono Group stated “The latest test results, which continue Zoono’s practice of having efficacy tests completed by reputable, qualified and independent GLP Laboratories, confirm the results achieved using ZOONO Z71 Microbe Shield products in the field.”
As a result of the clinical and field research trial results, and that ZOONO Z71 Microbe Shield is a water-based product with low toxicity, Zoono believes sales and distribution opportunities will now follow.
While African Swine Fever may continue to remain a problem for the world, Zoono Group says there has been considerable interest in the Zoono technology and products.
