As we’ve seen in previous years, the announcement will come during the Apple Special Event later this month. However, there was a delay last year due to coronavirus restrictions. So, let’s hope we don’t have too long to wait this time around.

As well as release date rumours, there have also been leaks about everything from colour schemes to design features. Read on to find out what you can expect from the most anticipated smartphone launch of the year.

What colours will the iPhone 13 be?

One of the most exciting pieces of Apple iPhone 13 news has to do with the colour range. As usual, consumers can expect to select their new phones from a stunning array of colours. Last year’s iPhone 12 colour options including:

  • Blue.
  • Green.
  • Black.
  • White.
  • (PRODUCT) Red.
  • Purple.

It’s unclear how many of these older shades will be available to iPhone 13 buyers. However, what is certain is that there will be new colours to choose from. For starters, it looks likely that there will be a matte black finish on the cards. This is an old favourite of many Apple fans, having not been seen on an iPhone since the days of the 7.

A rose-pink iPhone 13 has been leaked, too. If it’s as striking as the old rose gold phones were, then they’re sure to be a hit. This month might also bring with it the first-ever orange iPhone for the standard and smaller models. A more toned-down bronze shade has been teased for the more significant iterations.

What models will the iPhone 13 be available in?

In addition to the range of colour options, shoppers will be able to choose between different iPhone 13 models. And, as with the 12, it is said that there will be four available. These are likely to include smaller models such as an iPhone 13 mini and the standard iPhone 13. The Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max and Pro models may also be available for tech fans who want something more impressive.

There’s no telling whether the fastest and most powerful version will be called the iPhone 13 Pro Max as it was with the 12. However, the models may have different names this time around. Fans will need to wait until release day to find that out for sure.

What new design features can I expect with the iPhone 13?

The iPhone 13 isn’t expected to undergo many cosmetic changes this year. While, in 2020, the phones’ sleek, flat sides returned, the significant differences this time around are expected to be the display and camera. However, even these relatively slight changes are likely to be welcome.

You see, last year’s phones had a noticeable notch that fans did not take well to. They also had separate bumps for each of the cameras on the back of the phone. This made them unstable if they were placed down on a flat surface. The notch on the iPhone 13 will probably be reduced, and the camera bumps replaced with a sheet of glass.

When will the iPhone 13 be released?

Although last year’s Apple Special Event was pushed back to October, people are optimistic that this year won’t happen quite as late. And, the good news is that all signs point to a mid-September keynote speech. Hopefully, this keynote speech will include the announcement of the iPhone 13 release date.

If previous schedules are anything to go by, the event could happen on the week of the 13 to 17 September. From there, it’s likely only to take around ten days for the phones to land in stores.
