Lithium Australia’s (ASX:LIT) energy storage solutions subsidiary Soluna Australia Pty Ltd has received important approvals from Australia’s Clean Energy Council, paving the way for commercial development.
Soluna Australia is an incorporated 50-50 joint venture between Lithium Australia NL and DLG Energy (Shanghai) Co., Ltd – that aims to supply energy storage solutions within Australia and beyond.
The CEC requires that all clean-energy products sold in Australia meet the highest international standards, with CEC accreditation confirming to national power grid operators that Soluna products meet all relevant Australian and international standards and are safe to install across the country.
Soluna’s Power Bank systems for residential applications include lithium-ion battery storage, a hybrid inverter and an advanced battery management system. CEC- approved, they will soon be available for installation country-wide.
Soluna Australia is now gathering additional stock with delivery expected in early July.
Lithium Australia managing director, Adrian Griffin, said only products on CEC’s approved lists are eligible to receive small-scale technology certificates (STCs) under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) and other government incentive programs.
Gaining CEC approval for all the products it markets is a great achievement for Soluna and opens the door for sales of its high-quality, flexible product range to those wishing to save on their energy bills,” Mr Griffin said.
“Lithium Australia’s investment in Soluna complements its other business units; together, these comprise a practical circular economy for battery products, ranging from a reduction of waste in the mining phase through more efficient battery production to battery sales via Soluna and, ultimately, the recycling of spent batteries through Envirostream Australia.
“Soluna, then, is an integral part of the circular economy, for which Lithium Australia is providing ethical and sustainable solutions.”
Mr Griffin said Soluna Australia provides safe premium quality solar battery energy storage systems (BESS) and rack mount battery modules covering residential homes, commercial, industrial and mining solutions, with sustainable practices utilizing nanotechnology in Australia and end of life battery recycling.
