Singapore-based, ASX-listed technology Company Nanoveu (ASX:NVU) has confirmed the completion of an advanced prototype of its EyeFyx vision correction technology.

The EyeFyx technology uses a combination of hardware and software to manipulate the output of digital screens allowing people suffering farsightedness to see a clear screen without the need for glasses.

Nanoveu has also announced that it has lodged patents in Singapore to further protect its EyeFyx intellectual property.

The advanced prototype uses a PET film acting as a large-scale optical lens and has been applied to a 14-inch laptop screen. The lens acts in tandem with software which affects the output of the display.

The EyeFyx prototype is capable of transforming the screen in real-time up to a refresh-rate of approximately 60 frames per second. The emitted light is fashioned in a way which is corrected for those suffering farsightedness.

Commenting on the prototype, Nanoveu Executive Chairman and CEO Alfred Chong said:

The completion of a large-scale prototype capable of transforming the display in real-time is a fantastic result for Nanoveu and is truly an example of our world-leading technology.

“The product is revolutionary and has major potential to disrupt the digital display industry, creating a new market of products specifically for people suffering farsightedness.”

Mr Chong added that further hardware and software development was required, but that maiden production is targeted for the second half of 2021.

A live demonstration of the product will be held at the upcoming Photronics @ SG online conference.

The public are free to register and watch the presentation, to be held on 20 November 2020 with the EyeFyx virtual booth available from 12:15pm – 5:30pm AWST (3:15pm – 8:30pm AEDT).
