Shares in antiviral technology company Nanoveu (ASX:NVU) are buzzing after announcing it has added the world’s leading out-of-home food and beverage group Nestlé Professional to customer list – shooting its shares to an intraday high of 11c from a previous close of 5.3c per share.
Nanoveu has developed a translucent laminate product to protect high-touchpoint surfaces, using a layer of charged copper ions to kill viruses.
The food and beverage giant will be applying Nanoveu’s Nanoshield product to Nescafé touch screen and touch pad coffee machines, which are available around the world.
Specific Nanoshield products will also be available for We Proudly Serve Starbucks® coffee machines selected markets.
Prior to selecting Nanoveu as a supplier, Nestlé Professional undertook its own evaluation of Nanoshield at its Institute of Food Safety and Analytical Sciences located in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Efficacy testing has been highly successful with the Company intimating a peer reviewed journal article will be published in the near future.
Commenting on the addition of Nestlé Professional as a customer, Nanoveu CEO Alfred Chong said:

The initial product order from Nestlé Professional is for US$50,000 and while there are no guarantees of future orders the opportunity it may present to work with other divisions of Nestlé.
