NetApp® (NASDAQ: NTAP) a global, cloud-led, data-centric software company has been appointed to the NSW Government’s cloud purchasing arrangements (CPA) panel, making it easier for agencies to engage and use NetApp’s technologies and services.

The CPA is a collection of NSW whole-of-government contracts with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) for consumption of cloud and associated services by NSW Government agencies and other eligible non-government bodies. The CPA allows eligible agencies to consume infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) cloud services, by establishing a commercial offer based on whole-of-government volume, thereby reducing sourcing costs and reducing the need for individual contract negotiations. NetApp’s agreement with NSW Government followed a qualification process to be admitted to the panel.

The NSW Government expects all its agencies will be using public cloud for a minimum 25 per cent of their ICT services by 2023.

“NetApp GovCloud provides a secure and reliable service, with a variety of performance profiles and features to meet production, backup and disaster recovery requirements,” said Matt Hurford, Vice President of Systems Engineering in Asia Pacific at NetApp. “Across the globe, public sector organisations rely on NetApp to provide them with the ability to make technology decisions that will deliver a high-quality citizen experience while meeting operational requirements.”

“NetApp has been delivering industry-leading services to Australian Government agencies for more than 20 years, supporting citizen services though our innovative technology,” said Matt Hurford. “NetApp GovCloud is well established, with a number of large agencies on the cloud platform, managing over 10PB of storage under contracts, alongside managed compute nodes for NSW Government agencies.”

NetApp’s agreement also extends these services into the three public cloud providers with a range of Iaas and PaaS offerings to assist NSW Government agencies with data management and cost control in public cloud services.
