Neu Capital, corporate financier and Australia and New Zealand’s (Aus-NZ) leading network of mid-market institutional investor relationships, is teaming up with Grant Thornton, a global professional services network, to transform access to institutional funding channels for established Australian businesses.
The collaboration will see the two companies focus on businesses seeking $10 million to $200 million in debt or equity, combining Grant Thornton’s market-leading advisory capabilities with Neu Capital’s investor relationships and proprietary market intelligence.
“We see this an exciting opportunity to partner with one of the world’s most established professional services firms and fill the gap for established companies who need a broader range of funding options, especially when looking to expand their burgeoning businesses” Cyrus Church, Neu Capital director and Co-Head of Deal Execution, says.
“This collaboration will provide these companies with a combination of advice and investor relationships via a single end-to-end, efficient and cost-effective channel.”
Jointly Neu Capital and Grant Thornton will provide a full suite of mid-market capital raising and M&A services including deal readiness planning, information preparation, deal structuring, institutional matchmaking and negotiation.
“We want to alert mid-market CEOs, CFOs and financial controllers to the large pool of private capital wishing to invest in established businesses,” Paul Gooley, Grant Thornton, Partner and National Head of Corporate Finance, says.
Neu Capital has developed a secure in-house deal platform to store and organise volumes of proprietary intelligence on the network, support careful matchmaking decisions and discreetly engage with targeted investors.
Each institutional fund has been vetted by Neu Capital and the network covers several hundred institutions, including offices of wealthy families, private equity firms, credit funds and other non-bank lenders, including some based in North America, Europe and Asia.
Fellow Co-Head of Deal Execution Edward Jones, who has a long history of managing structured debt products in difficult economic circumstances throughout Australia and Europe, believes the deal will enhance both businesses and investors.
We have an extensive array of institutional relationships across debt and equity,” Jones says.
“These domestic and overseas funds are aggressively seeking established Australian companies to invest in. Over the last four years we have discovered and addressed through our platform a disconnect between these funds seeking investment opportunities; and, the companies looking for capital for growth, acquisition, succession, or debt refinancing”
“One of the really important aspects of our platform is that access to deal information by investors is tightly controlled in a manner and format pre-agreed with them. Our team, technology and processes are built for discreet distribution from the ground up, which facilitates higher volumes and quality of opportunities for our investor network.”
