Award-winning financial advice app Nod continues to grow through diversity, with the technology company adding entrepreneur Kathryn Sforcina as head of growth, bringing its leadership team to 50 percent female representation.
Ms Sforcina joins the fintech with a strong background in start-up technologies, having served as a small companies mentor at Dubai-based venture capital and private equity firm Faster Capital, as well as a co-founder of In Her Pursuit, a technology platform aggregating resources and knowledge to advance careers.
She boasts a 20 year journey as an entrepreneur, during which time bootstrapped and scaled four companies into global markets, having been involved in expanding businesses into more than 68 countries and it is that kind of rapid growth coupled with sound frameworks and processing behind it that Nod are looking to her to duplicate for them.
The appointment signifies the growing ambition of Nod, which has developed a patent pending algorithm that utilises AI to create real-time Statement of Advice for Financial Advisors and Accountants.
Commenting on the appointment Nod CEO Joel Robbie said the diversity amongst the team led to significantly improved outcomes.
We believe diversity really matters. It’s always been important for us to be genuinely sending the signal that there should be equal representation of genders in tech and we believe that by setting that as a goal from day one it’s made it easier for us to attract amazing female talent like Kathryn to the company.
“Diversity around the table leads to better decision making so we think it makes perfect sense from a business perspective as well.
“Personally, I am humbled that someone of Kathryn’s calibre would be excited to join our company and help us to build amazing technology that enables experts to help more people. We are beyond excited that she has joined the team.”
