Pentanet Limited (ASX:5GG) has reached the practical completion milestone in the rollout of the NVIDIA GeForce NOWTM RTX 3080 ‘Gen 3’ cloud gaming infrastructure in Australia.

The company has invested in the next-generation RTX 3080 SuperPODs which will provide top-tier members of the GeForce NOW Powered by Pentanet service with access to dedicated GeForce RTX 3080 performance in the cloud.

The Gen 3 infrastructure provides a significant performance boost, fostering immersive 4K gameplay experiences across a multitude of devices. Games can run up to 4K 60FPS or 1440p at 120FPS on PC and Mac, 4K HDR at 60FPS on NVIDIA SHIELD TV, and up to 120 FPS on select Android mobile devices.

The RTX 3080 gaming servers are now installed and operational, with the first Internal Beta cloud gaming sessions now underway to validate performance on local infrastructure. Each GeForce NOW RTX SuperPOD consists of over 1,000 NVIDIA GPUs that deliver more than 39 petaflops of graphics horsepower. Each instance is 35 teraflops of performance.

New top tier membership plans are set to launch in 1HFY24, delivering high-performance cloud gaming to a more extensive market of discerning gamers. The new plan has the potential to substantially boost the number of paying subscribers, fostering the expansion of Pentanet’s premium membership community.

Since the CloudGG platform launched in Australia in October 2021, the GeForce NOW Powered by Pentanet service has signed on over 400,000 users who have streamed more than 350 million minutes of gameplay from the cloud.

Our successful deployment of RTX 3080 Gen 3 infrastructure is an exciting step for cloud gaming in Australia,” Pentanet Managing Director, Stephen Cornish, said.

“Delivering 4K immersive gameplay streamed from the cloud is another game-changer for the gaming market who will now have the option for higher resolution and performance plans and tiers.”

Pentanet is a Perth-based, growth-focused telco delivering high-speed internet to a growing number of subscribers by providing next- generation internet speeds. This is achieved through Pentanet’s market-leading private wireless network, the largest in Perth, as well as reselling fixed-line services such as nbn and Opticomm.

The company’s flagship wireless network has benefits for both customers and investors, offering an outstanding customer experience and a fixed wireless product that is technically superior to most of the nbn with attractive margins for investors. This sets Pentanet apart from most broadband providers, which typically only resell the nbn.

Pentanet is also part of the rollout of the next wave of subscription-based entertainment services – cloud gaming. The company’s Alliance Partner Agreement with NVIDIA allowed Pentanet to be the first to bring their GeForce NOW technology to Australia in 2021. Since launch, the platform has amassed over 400,000 users.
