Asia-Pacific start-up companies are being given the opportunity to pitch for A$1 million, with the best presentation awarded the funding prize at StartCon, Australia’s largest start-up conference, held in Sydney on 30 November to 1st December.
The capital pitch competition, which is organised by StartCon and Australian VC firm Right Click Capital, is set to hear from some of the region’s hottest tech ventures, with over 600 start-ups and 400 leading investors set to participate.
A series of one-day events will be used to select the best pitches, which will be held in 15 cities, including all major Australian cities and in New Zealand, China, India, Singapore, Philippines and Fiji.
Regional winners will be invited to attend StartCon 2018 with all flights and accommodation covered through the competition.
The funding prize, which is supplied by Right Click Capital, is offered to fast-track Asia-Pacific start-ups develop proprietary technologies, attract talent, as well as scale and expand business operations.
Right Click Capital is part of the internationally renowned Draper Venture Network, which collectively holds US$1.8 billion in assets under management.

This is the ninth year that the start-up pitch competition has been running, following previous year’s success stories, which include Checkbox and Shippit.
