ASX-listed data privacy company ShareRoot (ASX:SRO) has announced the appointment of two leading experts, to help guide the promotion and development of its technology platform, MediaConsent.
Dr Paul-Olivier Dehaye and Mr Jerome Groetenbriel – co-founders of PersonalData.IO, a data advisory service for companies – have been high-profile privacy commentators for a number of years and grown to particular prominence during the Cambridge Analytica data mining scandal.
Dr Dehaye personally testifyied on the Cambridge Analytica/Facebook data mining incident alongside whistleblower Chris Wylie to the UK parliament.
Speaking at the TechKnow Invest Roadshow ShareRoot’s CEO Mr Noah Abelson-Gertler said:
“[Paul] is one of the leading minds when it comes to data and privacy infringements throughout the world.
“He will be influencing ShareRoot’s roadmap for the future – and very integral in the vision around what we are building.
In an announcement released to the ASX Mr Abelson-Gertler further elaborated:
ShareRoot is a first mover in the industry, and Paul and Jerome have demonstrated their deep knowledge and understanding of a digital marketing landscape that is wrought with questions.”
The two key appointments will be working on the company’s MediaConsent platform, which is the first platform the company is aware of to give consumerscontrol of their data and privacy.
Effectively, ShareRoot’s platform asks individuals to enter preferences regarding how much information they would like accessed when conducting commerce with a company. Companies using the platform can then be assured that their collection and use of data is both ethical and compliant with ever-growing privacy regulations.
Shareroot has also recently acquired STEM/health sciences social media marketing agency The Social Science and is also investigating the potential for incorporating blockchain technology, appointing DigitalX (ASX:DCC) as an advisor.
