Rising Australian medical VR company, Vantari VR, has partnered with internationally-renowned cardiologist, Associate Clinical Professor Dr. Martin Brown, to launch the world’s first virtual right heart catheter course.
The rollout of the programme, set to revolutionise the way clinicians receive training, has also been backed by global pharmaceutical company, Janssen Pharmaceuticals.
The right heart catheter training programme was originally developed in 2017 and was approved for training by the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. Initially the training was to be completed in a simulation laboratory using mannequins and was set to be rolled out nationally, however Covid-19 restrictions meant the programme was put on hold.
Now, thanks to Vantari’s unique ‘flight-simulator’-style technology, this will be a worldwide first in training doctors to perform this procedure in the virtual space.
