Innovative telco Vonex has gained in today’s trade on news it has begun development of its high-tech Oper8tor app, allowing users to communicate seamlessly across digital platforms and geographies.

The Perth-based company is currently carrying out beta development of Oper8tor with beta testing with controlled users anticipated to begin from October 2018.

Beta testing will involve up to 5,000 controlled users targeting data collection, bug report testing and tracking, scalability testing on elastic servers, redundancy, online marketing and refinement of the user interface functionality.

Vonex is now hiring in-house engineers and developers until an initial product is ready for soft-launch in Western Europe in early 2019.

The region has been selected due to its concentrated population and advanced economies, high mobile phone usage, and clean data on app take-up and demand.

Having successfully raised $6 million in our recent IPO, we are now well funded to progress with the development of this cutting-edge application, the only mobile app in the world that Vonex is aware of allowing multiple voice apps to operate seamlessly together,” Vonex Managing Director Mr Matthew Fahey said.

“I look forward to updating investors as Vonex progresses through the beta development process towards the controlled testing stage.”

The Company anticipates that the bulk of the costs associated with the beta stage of development of the Oper8tor App will be deemed eligible expenditure for Research and Development tax incentive purposes.

The Oper8tor App has a target market of both consumers and communication technology providers and can be deployed worldwide.

The IP behind the Oper8tor App is owned by Vonex who has global patents pending in respect of the technology.

Shares in Vonex were last trading at 15c, up over 3%, in morning trade.
