West Australia’s bubbling tech scene continues to attract attention with Lateral Capital Ventures’ Investor Day, held 3rd October at Perth Town Hall, to showcase some of the state’s most promising enterprises.

The conference, which is supported by the City of Perth, will see presentations from a collection companies across the development pipeline that have produced technology to revolutionise industry on a global-scale.

Presenters include local product Schrole Group (ASX:SCL) which is developing a host of technology solutions for international schools.

Early in September the education-technology pioneer signed a deal that places its recruitment software – which matches teachers to schools and schools to teachers – amongst the industry’s market leaders.

Adding to the Investor Day’s international credentials, Caerl Murray Senior Client Executive of Chinese retailer Alibaba will be joining the event for a not-to-be-missed discussion. The tech giant completed the world’s largest IPO in history in 2014 and recently established operations in Australia.

Other hidden gems on display include SOAR, which is currently undertaking a token pre-sale, using digital currency to lunch a platform to host video footage captured by drones. Its hoped the platform will create the first fully-democratised map of the world, which can be used for industries as diverse as agriculture and defence.

Australia’s National Currency Exchange (NCX) will also be at the event. The NCX is uniquely placed amongst digital currency exchanges, having all of the controlled funds and digital assets managed in Australia.

Delegates will even hear from Tony Chong, managing partner of the Perth office for international law firm Squire Patton Boggs. Tony will apply his trademark accounting and tax acumen to investment in venture capital.

Lateral Capital Ventures CEO and chief organiser of the Investor Day, Mr Tommy Shin, said:

Australia, and Perth specifically, has shown itself to be a hotspot for emerging technologies with the power to change the world.

“I would like to echo recent comments made by one of the world’s greatest venture capitalists, Bill Tai, that technology development continues to decentralise, which is an immensely positive trend for non-traditional tech hubs, such as Perth.

“I am extremely pleased at the level of support shown for the Investor Day, not only from the Perth tech community but also from a series of high-profile Asian investors who have committed to fly in specifically for the event.

“The Investor Day offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to hear from executives and get in at the ground floor of some truly revolutionary ideas,” he said.

Delegate passes are being snapped up fast, with only a limited number of spaces left. To register your interest at this seminal event, contact Lateral Capital Ventures.
