The share price of family protection software specialist Wangle Technologies Limited (ASX:WGL) has leapt more than 80% on news that it is about to launch its eagerly awaited Wangle Family Insites (WFI) product.

Wangle announced it will launch the software suite on the week commencing 23 October, with Apple confirming acceptance of WFI iOS version in the App Store.

Wangle also reported that closed group family beta testing of the full product suite (including mobile apps and online portal) has been completed for Version 1 of WFI in readiness for public launch.

The iOS version of the WFI app has passed testing and is now staged for final public release. The Android version of the WFI app is still undergoing final preparations in readiness for launch and pending final testing, will launch at the same time or shortly after the iOS version.

The ground-breaking parent protection WFI suite utilises behavioural analysis of live mobile network traffic across Wangle’s best in class secure VPN network to help parents identify and manage online risks to their children. The platform also provides educational resources to parents when risks are identified which has been prepared in collaboration with Telethon Kids Institute and Wangle’s Head of Education, Robyn Treyvaud of Cyber Safe Kids.

The launch of Version 1 of the Wangle Family Insites App will incorporate a number of features for parents and children including:

  • Live alerts providing educational resources to families to help with identifying a range of potential behavioural threats, including:
  • Accessing adult or sexually explicit material such as pornography, adult services or paraphernalia
  • Websites that feature the sale and/or promotion of drugs, alcohol, gambling, weapons and extremist behaviours
  • Uploading of private content to harmful websites
  • Excessive internet usage behaviours including gaming and social networking
  • Dangerous behavioural indicators including after-hours communication and cyberbullying
  • Supporting documentation on threats including research, resources and further reading suggestions
  • Ability to activate live GPS tracking of linked devices
  • Collation of each device’s usage information across the most popular used apps including specific categories such as gaming, social media and messaging
  • Rolling daily reports on each devices internet usage
  • Utilisation of Wangle’s secure and accelerated VPN for child devices.

The product will be available via the Apple and Android App stores on a monthly or annual family subscription and will initially target Australia’s six million families before a planned international expansion.
