Blockchain-based logistics innovator Yojee (ASX:YOJ) has released its latest piece of intelligent software known as BoxApp, to provide real-time tracking services for sole traders.

Launched at one of the world’s largest logistics conferences MOVE 2019, which is being held in London, the app represents a key element of the company’s client acquisition strategy.

BoxApp provides sole traders with detailed information on deliveries with task assignment and activity logging complementing the live tracking technology.

The application also reduces paperwork by integrating live-messaging functionality, with sole traders able to contact anyone in the supply chain and maintaining a record of all interactions.

Yojee will provide the messenger and job management functionality free and with unlimited usage and is available for both iOS and Android.

BoxApp is planned to offer in-app purchases which will allow users to also benefit from other services, such as job reports and fast-tracked invoices.

Commenting on the launch, Yojee managing director Ed Clarke said:

We are providing a solution that is just as helpful for the small family business as the world’s largest enterprises, who to this day still assign work to individual vehicle operators.”

According to Mr Clarke sole traders which operate with minimal technology are a significant participant in the logistics industry.

“Vietnam’s logistics sector, for example, makes up 18% of its GDP, and is predominantly comprised of just this kind of operator,” Mr Clarke said.

Yojee is already developing logistics solutions for larger players, with the company’s blockchain based technology being trialled by the likes of UPS Asia.

The company also holds a services agreement with DB Schenker (Asia Pacific), a division of the German rail operator Deutsche Bahn which is focussed on logistics.

Yojee has said it intends to develop BoxApp as a bridging solution for smaller sole operators which use outdated systems, allowing them to be seamlessly brought up to speed with technologies used by industry leaders.
